I knew I wanted to be a DJ since I was 6.  The only real problem I had was I stuttered quite badly! Not good for a budding DJ,  but that didn’t stop me and my parents were very encouraging! They say “practice makes perfect” so practicing talking into a homemade microphone was a common sight in my household.  At 17 I landed my first gig in Nacogdoches, TX, for a top 40 radio station…I was finally a “star” (only in my own mind, I think only a ten people listened to the radio station) From there I worked in West Palm Beach for a country station, then off to Raleigh where I worked at an oldies format station.  Great fun! After 10 years I finally landed in Sacramento at Salem Broadcasting where I was Production Manager and the morning co-host of the Family Friendly Morning Show.  It was here, in Sac, where I met my husband, who works at News 10 and had my lovely and very energetic daughter. After time off to enjoy my daughter I returned to radio right here at 92.1 K-HITS.  Now I spend my time as a Marketing Consultant, personality, voice over artist and of course mom and wife.

My daughter is 8 and has been doing voiceover’s for 4 years already!  She’s a veteran! Sometimes you’ll here her on commercials and helping me with my smackaroo questions.  She’s quite the smart-aleck and keeps my husband and I quite entertained….everything is a drama and well acted out with her….especially when she’s trouble. 

I LOVE the hits of the 60’s and 70’s!  It’s what I grew up with (barely….I’m ONLY in my early 40’s!) My favorite song is “OOH Child”.  I turn it up in the morning and sing (very badly) and at the top of my lungs to get my little one out of bed.  It’s amazing how fast one will wake up when listening to bad singing!  Hey, whatever works right?
